Thomas Prichard Rossiter Papers, 1833-1834

Thomas Prichard Rossiter (1818-1871) was a painter. Rossiter studied in Connecticut and in Europe, eventually settling in New York. The collection includes three letters to Thomas Prichard Rossiter, each with a part written by Henry C. Rossiter, his father, and a part by Hester Henry, his stepsister, who recently had moved from New York state to a farm near Caldwell (presumably Greenville County), S.C. The letters discuss life in South Carolina and family matters.
